Specialist Naturopath, Holistic Nutritionist, Herbalist, Homoeopath, R-System Specialist
Last weekend, I was lucky enough to both attend and present at a national forum on cancer.
It encompassed two full days of education, motivation and networking with some of the most important players in integrative oncology in Australia.
The topics presented at the Integria Oncology: Supportive Integrative therapies symposium included:
- The modern immune burdens in cancer
- Support for cancer patients both during and after chemotherapy
- Caring for the paediatric patient
- The importance of having trauma informed practice
- The ten healing factors common to exceptional cancer survivors
- The keys to caring and advocating for metastatic and palliative patients
- How to address fatigue in cancer patients
- The latest findings with respect to herbs and phytonutrients for the support of cancer patients
My focus was on the key clinical considerations that a Naturopath could provide for a cancer patient.
Fundamentally, I talked about how to identify and address the drivers and amplifiers specific to an individual’s cancer presentation. I presented five (5) case studies that showed the journey from diagnosis to treatment to remission and beyond, where a health focus was considered together with a disease focus.
Although cancer is considered the emperor of all maladies and tends to strike fear when mentioned, we can have hope if we receive this diagnosis.
Like all cells, cancer is highly influenced by its microcellular environment.
It does not do well in a healthy environment, so much so that it creates an unhealthy environment specific to its survival. The reality is, if you focus on creating a microcellular environment that is favourable to healthy cells it makes it very hard for cancer cells to prosper.
YOU CAN MOVE TOWARD A HEALTHY MICROCELLULAR ENVIRONMENT BY:
- Eating well
- Exercising
- Managing stress
- Sleeping well
- Having healthy social connections
- Immersing in nature
- Releasing suppressed emotions
- Following your intuition
- Having an empowered and positive mindset
- Possessing a clear purpose
If you also work on the weak spots of your health, especially those that compromise your immune system, you will build a powerful armoury against cancer cells.
Essentially, what I am talking about is what a Naturopath is always trying to do for their patients.
IMPROVE RESISTANCE AND DECREASE STRESS.
It’s amazing to observe the above average results that a cancer patient achieves when they incorporate this health focus to their orthodox treatment.
I am pleased to say, that my current strategies were clinically and scientifically confirmed, but more importantly enhanced by my attendance at this symposium.
It was a great weekend and I look forward to sharing and implementing all that I have learnt.
Take care and stay well,
Rob
